Warden Bridge spans the River Tyne at Hexham and carries the Newcastle to Carlisle lines.

The contract for Network Rail included the Form A and B scheme design, the replacement of 40 no. pairs of longitudinal timbers on the up and down mains, new LGN and LN baseplates and guard rails to the up, new guard rail assemblies, re-alignment of the track approaches to produce compliant geometry, track circuit disconnections/reconnections and testing and re-stressing of the finished works.

The project was successfully completed over a series of 9 no. weekend possessions.
