Siemens Train Manufacturing Facility, Goole
Trackwork were awarded the contract to supply and install the permanent way infrastructure at the new train manufacturing plant at Goole, East Riding of Yorkshire.
The 67-acre site is to be used for the production of the new Piccadilly line tube trains, as well as future mainline trains.
Trackwork were appointed for Grip 4-5 Design and Build of the Permanent Way Works, together with Design, Installation & Commissioning of the Signalling works. The S&C and track materials were manufactured and/or supplied by trackwork.
The permanent way scope of works included:
- 3.7Km of Ballasted, fish plated CEN56 track on EG47 concrete sleepers.
- 500m of concrete embedded track
- 300m of track on pit walls
- 575m of track on stub columns
- 8 no. BV8 turnouts with handpoints.
- 1 no. CV9.25 turnout to connect into Guardian Glass line, installed in a Possession.
- Points Heating & Hand points.
- 4 no. Fixed Rawie Buffer Stops
- 20 no. Wheel stops
- 2800m Gravel Walkways.
- 6 No. Rosehill Crossings, together with associated concrete works
- 12 no. GRP Pedestrian Crossing
- GRIP 4 to 5 Design
The signalling scope of works included:
- Grip 4 & 5 Signal Design
- 1 no. motorised point
- 1 no. Indicator signal & structure
- 1 no. location case fully fitted out
- 1 no. points disconnection box
- All associated cabling
- Signage
- Commissioning & Testing
