Trackwork Moll Sleeper Factory, Doncaster

As a joint venture between Trackwork and Leonhard Moll Betonwerke of Munich, Trackwork Moll is a key strategic concrete sleeper supply partner for Network Rail.

A carousel production facility was constructed, served by a 355m long gantry crane along with loading sidings to allow delivery of the sleepers via the rail network.

Trackwork were responsible for the design, supply and installation of 710m of 60E1 rail on specially designed single concrete sleepers with Vossloh fixings.

Trackwork also installed 2 No. 400m long sidings to serve the loading facility, whilst designing and building the connection into the adjacent Doncaster Woodyard tracks, requiring approval through the Network Rail GRIP process.
