Ferrybridge MultiFuel Project – Sidings & Crane Rail Installation

Trackwork were appointed to construct a 400m twin track multifuel siding with Crane Rail and level crossing as part of the Ferrybridge Multifuel project.

The scope of works included:

  • Supply & installation of 2 x 400m of A120 Crane Rail on a continuous soleplate – Ground Track System.
  • Supply & Installation of 800m Plain Line on G44 concrete sleepers to tight tolerances.
  • Ballast & tamping.
  • Installation of Holdfast modular rubber vehicular level crossing on concrete edge beams.
  • Supply & Installation of 2 x BV8 turnouts.
  • 2 No. Buffer Stops.
  • Construction of 974m of Granite Chipping Walkways.
  • Setting out datum positions to allow Crane Rail installation.

Due to the multi-contractor environment of this project within an operational power station, our Contracts Manager developed a detailed Works Package Plan to ensure robust communication channels between all parties were in place and our planner provided effective management of the programme. The project was completed on time and to budget.
