Porterbrook, the UK’s leading rolling stock financier and asset management company, has appointed Trackwork Ltd as the principal contractor for a major redevelopment of its 135-acre mainline-connected site, bringing the company’s investment in the site to £75m. This project marks a significant milestone in Porterbrook enhancing the rail infrastructure of the Long Marston site.
Works include the design, supply and installation of:
• 11km of new track
• 40 No. switch & crossing units (manufactured in-house by Trackwork)
• 37,000 tonnes of ballast
• Level crossing replacement
• Associated civils works including road modifications, walkways, troughing, culverts etc.
