Tubelines

Trackwork in Joint venture with Grantrail has been awarded a £150m track renewal contract by Tubelines. The contract will see the refurbishment or renewal of 35km of track on the Jubilee Line, 60km of track on the Northern Line and 60km of track on the Piccadilly Line.


VIADUCT BRIDGE 23 - NORTHAMPTON

To faciltate the waterproofing and repair to drainage and brickwork Trackwork removed and reinstated a crossover and 90 metres of plain track.


ACT JV CTRL - 576

Provision of two temporary railheads at Swanscombe and Ripple Lane with a permanent siding at Dagenham.


Life extension/complementary works

Trackwork has 25 years experience of working throughout the UK undertaking life extension and complementary work on the rail infrastructure. Each team has its own fully equipped vehicle and each team member has a skills matrix to ensure a capable mix of skills.


Sliding Fiction Buffer Stops - Piccadilly

Despite confined space working Trackwork repositioned 12 No. sliding friction buffer stops ahead of schedule at Manchester's Piccadilly station.


Govia Train Depots

Trackwork were awarded the contract for the remodelling of both internal and external track to accommodate the new fleet of trains in Govia depots. In total 25 new 113AFB BV8 turnouts, 5km of external plain track, 3km of internal track and 9km of conductor rail was provided and installed.


Old Dalby Test Track

Trackwork installed ten S&C units and 23km of plain line track to accommodate a line speed of 140mph with the UK’s first large scale use of CEN60 rail on GW44 concrete sleepers with Pandrol ‘Fastclips.’


Stonebridge Park

At the principal Royal Mail facility at Stonebridge Park Trackwork installed 47 units of S&C in the complex layout, 2.5km of track on ballast and a further 2km of track on concrete inside the depot.


Wentloog

To provide access to the new International Freight Terminal at Wentloog, Cardiff Trackwork, during a series of night time possessions installed 1 No. 1 in 15 crossover and 2 No.S&C units on concrete bearers using PUM’s.


Chester

Working to an extremely tight programme Trackwork installed a total of 16 units of S&C along with 3km of plain track on ballast and 1.5km on stub columns or pits for the Light Maintenance Depot.


New England Sidings - Peterborough

Network Rail awarded Trackwork the contract at New England Sidings, Peterborough for the renewal of the departure line (adjacent to the ECML) including formation preparation. In excess of 0.8km of track was installed during a series of 20 hour weekend possessions using PUM’s.


Doncaster Wood Yard

Frequently working within T4 possessions Trackwork undertook several contracts from light maintenance to complete sidings remodelling. Over 20 units of S&C were installed along with 4km of track whilst a further 4km received maintenance/refurbishment works.


Eurotunnel – Folkestone

Working to demanding tolerances with tight deadlines and access restrictions Trackwork installed 3 No. UEV 15 and 1No. SUG V2 turnouts which were all manufactured to European (French) specifications.


Routine Inspection & Patrolling

Trackwork is currently responsible for inspection and patrolling at almost 60 depots and sites from Polmadie to Purfleet and from Machynlleth to Marylebone. Each mobile team is trained in inspection procedures and monitored by a dedicated management team.


Emergency Bridge Works – Gonalston

To facilitate replacement of Bridge 35 at Gonalston Trackwork were awarded the contract remove and re-insate the track for 200 metres either side of the bridge and then tamped and lined to improve track geometry using its 08 Plasser & Theurer tamper.


Level Crossings

Trackwork have installed and repaired numerous level crossings throughout the UK in both curved and straight track, utilising products from all the UK manufacturers of level crossings.


Under Bridge No.6 - WCML

Trackwork removed and replaced 90 metres of CWR track to allow two new bridge decks to be replaced.  Once relayed the track was handed back at 50 mph following use of a DTS (Dynamic Track Stabilising) machine and after two weekends of follow up tamping the track was handed back to 125 mph running.

 


National Railway Museum - Shildon

Trackwork installed 7 No. turnouts with stabling a further 7 No. turnouts forming a ladder road a reception road and a connection spur.

 


Welding

Trackwork has two decades experience of Alumino-Thermic and arc welding repair to all Network Rail standards and specifications.
